50 Years of “I Do” at Palmetto Dunes

Hilton Head Wedding Magic

The sound of the sea lapping the shore, your loved ones by your sides, laid-back Lowcountry vibes…when it comes to casual coastal weddings, there’s no location better than Hilton Head Island, and no venue better than Palmetto Dunes! We’ve had the pleasure of hosting hundreds of weddings over the decades, and watching couples and their families enjoy their special day brings a smile to our face each and every time.

To celebrate 50 years of Palmetto Dunes, we thought we’d look back at some memorable weddings, and comments we’ve received from past brides.

I cannot say enough great things about Courtney, Devon, and the rest of the Palmetto Dunes staff. We did most of our wedding planning from Virginia, so most of our correspondence had to be done over email. Courtney and Devon were both very quick to respond, and always gave clear answers to any questions we had. Our beach wedding ceremony and the reception in the back room of the Dunes House was nothing short of perfect thanks to all of their help. We also received many comments that the food was by far the best wedding food some of our guests had ever had! Palmetto Dunes was wonderful to work with and they made our wedding day a dream come true. — Jacqui M.

The Dunes House is the most popular of our venues. Its oceanfront setting just can’t be beat! The 1,000 square-foot deck accommodates many configurations, whether you’re planning a stand-up cocktail reception or sit down family-style dinner.

Not only does the stunning backdrop of a Hilton Head make décor easy breezy, our dedicated wedding staff work tirelessly to make sure your day is perfect from start to finish. We know that planning a wedding can be stressful at the best of times so we go out of our way to make sure that everything is taken care of.

One of the things our weddings team loves doing is working with our catering department to create delicious meals for you and your loved ones to enjoy on the big day, and from the sounds of it y’all have been loving the wedding food at Palmetto Dunes!

The food was excellent. All of my guests complimented the caterer. They all said it was restaurant food quality and that they have never had such good food at a wedding before. — Michelle M.
… I do want to make a specific point to highlight the food from the Dunes House. We had multiple people mention to us unsolicited that the filet was one of the best they have had in a very long time. What a compliment coming from a demanding Chicago crowd! — Scott W.

Our wedding was at The Dunes House in Palmetto Dunes Ocean Resort. The catering was through Palmetto Dunes and it was phenomenal. — Mallory C.

Another joy our wedding team gets to enjoy is being a part of your love stories! There have been so many times over the years when Palmetto Dunes was chosen because it was a special destination for the bride and groom. Some couples are returning to the place they got engaged, others to the comfort and familiarity of a family vacation spot they’ve known since childhood. We’ve even had the children of staff members get married here!

My husband and I had our first vacation together on Hilton Head Island and stayed in Palmetto Dunes. We loved it so much that our venue choice was very easy when we got engaged several years later. — Tammy L.
